Happenings in the garden

Ornamental Catnip front, Veronica back

Ornamental Catnip and Veronica. I always like to see a picture of the whole plant when I can. These are wonderful perennials. Bees and butterflies love them.

Oriental Lilies of some sort. Look at those 3's...

This was at sunrise on a day we sprayed horn silica. Silica/quartz is especially related to light (note all the angles and glimmers and rainbows when you put quartz in the light, eh?!). One reason for this spray and these materials is that this light aspect helps with fungal issues (spring, wetness... or anytime it's wet. Throughout summer too).

  1. beautiful! Do you have any problems with white flies? They appeared a few days ago since it started getting up into the 80s during the day... I keep hosing them off, and it seems to help, but they won't leave!

  2. Hi! No, no white flies here... I don't even know what they are. (not that we are insect-free. slugs and snails are probably my biggest competition.). But vegetables probably attract different, and possibly more, insects than flowers and herbs (assuming you're hosing off vegetable plants, which is bad to assume). My boss always says that insects are a sign that something is missing... that they enter in when there is a weakness somewhere. With slugs and snails, that weakness may surely just be that the plant wasn't ready to be planted out yet. I'll see if I can find anything out.

    Yes, catch up!!!!
